It looks like the weather may have put paid to my grand ambition to walk across London. The idea is this - I get up really early one morning (as if!) and take the tube to somewhere in East London, say Canary Wharf, then start walking westward. Till I can walk no further. I've been wanting to do this for a year or so, and if I don't do it during this holiday, I'll feel I've failed, but I really don't feel like trudging along London streets in the kind of downpours we've had all day today. And the forecast for tomorrow is just as bad.

Or am I just being a wimp?
