A pre-lunch discussion in the office about what
reformed ham is (pieces of pork, squashed up with added water and gelatin) led to further stomach-churning subjects: why
crabsticks are called 'seafood sticks' these days (they don't contain any crab), what really goes into sausages, and the grisly horror that is
recovered meat ("animal rectums, testicles, udders, feet and tails are permitted to be used in such products as sausages, turkey burgers and chicken nuggets").
